GRINDHOUSE ERA ADS: PRETTY PEACHES

$

0

I have NOT seen PRETTY PEACHES since the early 1980's, so I don't remember if I liked the movie.

I don't know who wrote this film.

It was directed by Alex de Renzy ( 1935 – 2001 ).

Desiree Cousteau and many other familiar faces appear in this flick.

Screengrabs from an online video, NOT the DVD

PRETTY PEACHES was released on VHS, but I don't remember the name of the company, or if it was a legit release.

The first movie was released on DVD by ALPHA BLUE ARCHIVES.

I do NOT own the ALPHA BLUE ARCHIVES disc, so I can't tell you if it's worth buying.

PRETTY PEACHES II, and PRETTY PEACHES III, were released on region one DVD by VINEGAR SYNDROME ( as a double feature ). I do NOT own this DVD, so I can't tell you anything about it.

RANDOM RENE BOND SIGHTING - A NAME FOR EVIL.....

Rene Bond in a movie called A NAME FOR EVIL

A NAME FOR EVIL - aka THE GROVE, and aka THE FACE OF EVIL - may have been filmed in 1970 or 1971. I don't know if it was shown in domestic theaters.

A hippie's sexy supernatural hallucination, that's how I would describe this movie.

It stars Robert Culp ( 1930 – 2010 ), Samantha Eggar ( she looks beautiful in this movie ), and a cute blonde ( sorry, I forgot her name ).

The movie was written by Andrew Lytle and Bernard Girard.

It was also directed by Bernard Girard ( 1918 – 1997 ).

As an added bonus, Rene Bond ( 1950 – 1996 ), appears in this flick. She's the reason I purchased this movie.

There are A LOT of FULL FRONTALS in this flick.

Newspaper article from 1971 ( THE TOLEDO BLADE - U.S.A. ).... It talks about companies saving money by filming in Canada.

The article mentions Mr. Girard, Robert Culp, Samantha Eggar, and THE GROVE ( the original title for A NAME FOR EVIL ).

You'll see Rene dancing next to some lame-ass folk singer. She appears on his right side, starting at the 49 minute mark... keep watching, it gets better.....

I don't think Rene had any lines. It was just her swaying to the music while fawning over the singer. She looks like a love sick college co-ed.

I also don't remember if she makes any additional appearances.

I think this movie had a legit VHS release in the United States, but I don't remember the name of the company.

There are numerous grey-market DVDs, and at least one "pressed" disc available ( region one ).

TGG DIRECT released this movie as part of a five movie set called GHOST COLLECTION. I own this set. However, I can NOT find it.

I do NOT remember if the screengrabs I made are from the TGG disc, or a grey-market DVD-R. Also, I don't remember if TGG's disc is uncut, so buyer beware!

I don't know if any other company has released this on "pressed" disc.

FYI: There are at least three different covers for the TGG DVD.

JOYLAND BY STEPHEN KING.....

Until a few years ago, I've never cared about Stephen King's work. But then I read THE COLORADO KID, and I liked it more than I thought I would.

A while ago, I saw a cardboard display for the mass market version of JOYLAND at my local BARNES & NOBLE.

I went back the next weekend to ask if I could have it, or buy it, but it was gone... CRAP!

Does this book deserve all the praise it has received?... In my opinion, yes.

I had purchased the trade paperback edition, but it just sat on my shelf gathering dust. Then I purchased the mass market paperback version, and read the entire book on the weekend.

I could identify with many of the things the main character was experiencing.

Mr. King even makes a game of SCRABBLE seem intriguing. The conversation that takes place between those characters feels genuinely real.

After reading JOYLAND, I'll never look at kites the same way again.

I love this book very much, and I hope it gets made into a movie soon.

JOYLAND is one of those books you put in a special place, both physically and mentally.

I should have posted this shit a long time ago.

When I found out about a man named John Harrison, and his upcoming book about Rene Bond, I wrongly assumed this info was common knowledge. Well, apparently it's not.

I don't know when, or if, Mr. Harrison's book will be published. Nothing new has been posted about his book since January 23, 2013.

Link to John Harrison's blog is below.....

SIN STREET SLEAZE

Anyway, below is a very short piece announcing Rene Bond's engagement to a man named Ray Acebo ( June 18, 1968 ).....

Below is a short article mentioning Ray Acebo ( in photo - June 9, 1968 ).....

I also thought GOOGLE NEWSPAPER ARCHIVE was well known. But it's not.

There are a bunch of websites charging money for this shit!

The pros and cons of GOOGLE NEWSPAPER ARCHIVE.... The pros are, it's FREE!. At least half of the newspapers I've looked at over the years have been decent quality, and some have even been excellent.

The ONLY cons about GOOGLE NEWSPAPER ARCHIVE, is that some newspapers are incomplete, some are blurry, and some are unreadable. BUT IT'S FREE, DAMN IT!

Don't forget your local library!

Mini rant... Far too many people still don't "get it".... Just because something is in print does NOT make it true or accurate. Plus, things that do NOT get reported, can be just as important.

Almost everything should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt!

These days it's FAR worse. The internet is overflowing with misinformation, and outright LIES.

Most news outlets - newspapers, tv, radio - were and still are biased!... They're a reflection of the person, or persons, in charge.

WIKIPEDIA is a FUCKING JOKE!... I can NOT believe the amount of people that consider it an accurate source of information!

As you look through the online versions of these newspapers, think about everything that was going on. Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered, Robert F. Kennedy had also been murdered, and most of the "news" about Vietnam had a "positive" spin that reeked of propaganda... See links below...

LA MUJER MURCIELAGO AKA THE BATWOMAN

$

She's a wealthy socialite, a cowgirl, a wrestler, a hot babe, and a SUPERHERO!.... She's LA MUJER MURCIELAGO... The ass-kicking BATWOMAN!

BATWOMAN takes on an evil scientist named Dr. Williams and his half human, half fish, gill-man.

There are some wonderfully shot underwater scenes - they're crystal clear.

In my opinion, this mad scientist has one of the best evil laughs I've ever heard.

As a kid, I watched this movie many times on southern California tv stations. I can not remember if it was on a VHF or UHF channel.

This movie stars, Maura Monti as the BATWOMAN, Roberto Canedo ( 1918 – 1998 ) as the evil Dr Williams, and many others.

MUJER MURCIELAGO was written by Alfredo Salazar ( 1922 – 2006 ), and directed by René Cardona ( 1906 – 1988 ).

Nooooo!...

VCI's title is grammatically incorrect!... Come on!, even kids in India and China know it's incorrect!

The batwomanS is WRONG!... It's supposed to say la, NOT las!... La is singular, las is plural!

My DVD of LA MUJER MURCIELAGO is a PRESSED disc, NOT a DVD-R.

I'm NOT fond of VCI. They have NEVER replied to any of my emails, so I will NOT be spending anymore money on their products.

This is the LAST time I will add a VCI disc to my collection. In fact, in the past few years, I've sold off most of my DVDs.

From now on, I'll be focusing most of my attention on books, and other items.

Far too many of these companies take YOU for granted... I've had enough of ungrateful video companies.

DEBBIE DOES BROADWAY..... AGAIN

According to PLAYBILL.COM, the musical version of DEBBIE DOES DALLAS returned to broadway - for a brief run during August 6 - 9.

It originally ran off-broadway in 2002.

I have a question... did the folks that made the movie get royalties?

The movie version was a big deal when I was young. There was also a big legal controversy.

I don't think the movie made much of an impression on me, because the only thing I really remember, is the somewhat tame sex scene with Ms. Woods.

Sequel?... Yep, there have been countless sequels. I only saw the first movie, so I can't tell you if any of these flicks are real sequels, or sequels in name only.

In the United States, a VHS was released by VCX.

I think they also released it on BETA, but I'm not positive.

A region free DVD was also released by VCX.

I don't know if this movie is public domain, so I don't know if any other companies released it on home video.

As I write this, people still argue about the star - Bambi Woods - and her current status... Is she still alive?... Yes?... NO?...

FYI: Did you know that DEBBIE DOES WALMART TOO?!... You can buy a 11 x 17 inch print of the DEBBIE DOES DALLAS poster from WALMART's online store!

MOVIE ADS: MONSTER AKA EL MONSTRUO RESUCITADO

Newspaper ad for MONSTER - from LA OPINION ( Los Angeles California U.S.A. )

I remember watching this movie several times when I was a kid. It aired on some of the southern California TV stations. I don't remember if it was on VHF or UHF.

I think it's a good movie.

Visually, MONSTER reminds me of some German flims from the twenties and thirties. Some of the other scenes have a "noir" feel to them.

Screengrabs are from an online video - Miroslava Sternova ( left ), Jose Maria Linares-Rivas ( right )

A bored female reporter named Nora, meets a man that wears a mask - Hermann Ling.

When he reveals his face, she's shocked. He seems to suffer from the same affliction as Joseph Merrick ( 1862 – 1890 ).

Nora decides to do a story on Ling. Unfortunately, things don't go as planned.

Screengrabs are from an online video

MONSTER was written by Arduino Maiuri ( 1916 – 1984 ), and Chano Urueta ( 1904 – 1979 ).

The movie was directed by Chano Urueta.

It stars Miroslava Sternova ( 1925 – 1955 ) as Nora, and José María Linares-Rivas ( 1901 – 1955 ) as Hermann Ling.

Why did they spell monstro with a U in it? I've never met anyone that spells it with a U.

This movie has various AKA's.

I don't know if this movie was ever released on legit VHS domestically, but I know there were bootlegs, because I owned one.

MONSTER has been released on region zero DVD by a company called ONE 7 MOVIES ( CAV ).

I do NOT own this disc, so I can't tell you much about it.

Anyway, I haven't seen this film since my youth.

Somebody please release it!

DIANA AMFT.....

I was channel-surfing, when I saw a cute babe on a tv show called CONFESIONES DE UNA DOCTORA, AKA DOCTOR'S DIARY, AKA DIARIO DE UNA DOCTORA.

Apparently, the show is a German / Austrian co-production ( RTL / ORF ).

The lead actress is called Diana Amft, and she's from Germany. She plays a doctor called Gretchen Hasse.

The show seems to be a mixture of drama, comedy, and chick-flick.

Ms. Amft on a talk show

In the United States, CONFESIONES DE UNA DOCTORA airs on VME / PBS ( in dubbed Spanish ). I don't know if there's closed captioning or secondary audio in English ( I've never checked ). My Spanish language skills are not what they used to be, but I still understand almost every word.

It's NOT my kind of show, but... as I said before, I thought Diana Amft was cute, so I watched it.

WEB-SHOWS.....

I have nothing against INTERNET SHOWS. However, they're NOT television shows!

A TELEVISION show airs on a free channel, or cable channel, or satellite channel, and is VIEWED ON your TELEVISION.... That's why they're called TELEVISION shows!

A WEB-SERIES is made to be viewed on a website! A WEBSITE is NOT a television channel!

In order for it to be called a TV show, IT MUST ACTUALLY AIR ON TELEVISION!... Understand?!

I'm really sick of seeing INTERNET only shows being listed as TV shows on the IMDB!... It's fraudulent!... enough already!

DO YOU KNOW HER NAME?.....

One of my friends did some "adult" modeling in the late eighties and early nineties. She was NOT prolific, and she only posed solo. That's all she told me about her extremely short "adult" career. She's a wiz with computers and surveillance equipment, and has recently moved back to the west coast ( and that's all I can say ).

So why am I mentioning her?... Because a few weeks ago, she gave me a homemade DVD-R.

That disc contained one short "adult" film, and some talk show segments. The "adult" flick did NOT have a title, or any credits. So I don't know the name of the sandy blonde in the pink dress ( she reminds me of Emily VanCamp ).... FYI: The disc no longer works.

Yes, I've CENSORED all the screengrabs

The video is watermarked in the lower right corner ( Brandi Belle ). I have NO intention of visiting that website.

During the early days of the internet, most folks found out the hard way, that a lot of websties were just fronts for viruses, or they would redirect you to another website, or bombard you with countless pop-up ads.

The "adult" segment on this disc is basically a glorified "loop".

"Loops" became very popular during the seventies in small theaters, and on 8MM reels that you could watch at home.

Anyway, I searched some online retailers for videos using the name Brandi Belle, and found a few. The DVD with the sandy blonde is called "Brandi Belle 12". The sandy blonde's name was NOT listed on any of the websites I visited.

Just for the record, I'm NOT going to spend close to twenty dollars - plus shipping - for this. I just wanted to know her name. Plus, I can get a bunch of REAL movies with the same amount of cash.

If you've been to this blog before, then you probably know how much I hate most adult cinema made after 1985. In fact, most of those videos, have NO right to be called movies.

In my opinion, the sandy blonde in the pink dress stands out from the rest of the crowd. She's got a great attitude, charisma, and she's extremely cute.

So, does anyone out there know her name?... Do you know if she's done "mainstream" work?

With her personality and looks, she should be doing TV commercials and print ads, not this stuff.

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MASTERS OF THE GRIND?.....

I was really looking forward to this documentary, but the folks that made it seem to have vanished off the face of the eath.

Their official website is gone, and their official YOUTUBE channel hasn't been updated since 2010!

I can't even find a page for MASTERS OF THE GRIND on the IMDB.

Anyone out there know what happened?

Are the filmmakers ok?

Is the film going to be released?

It's report card time for the "free" movie channels.

DVD VS BLU-RAY VS VHS VS ?.....

Since it's introduction, companies have been trying to shove BLU-RAY discs down every consumers' throat. And yet, DVDs still DOMINATE the market!

During any given week, DVDs usually hold seventy percent of the market, vs thirty percent for BLU.

HOME MEDIA MAGAZINE WEBSITE ( for info on DVD and BLU sales )

The only BLU-RAY discs that seem to be a hit, are the extremely limited run "niche" titles, and a few of the major studio titles. That's NOT something to brag about!

In case you haven't noticed, a lot of stores have shrunk their home video sections ( that includes BLU-RAYs ).

For me, BLU-RAYs are the LASERDISCs of the 21st century. Yes, they're higher quality, and much more popular than LASERDISCs, but they're still primarily aimed at true "videophiles", and the "hipster-doofus" crowd.

Even stores like DOLLAR TREE, have a harder time selling BLU-RAYs than the run-of-the-mill DVDs.

DVDs are the LAST HARD COPIES of movies that I will ever purchase... That's it, I'm done!

QUOTES BELOW FROM ZDNET.COM ( April 29, 2014 )

"where popular DVDs regularly sold over 6-10 million US copies a year - and still do - only four Blu-ray's (Avatar, Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, Despicable Me 2) have broken the 3 million US sales in a calendar year"

FYI: Did you know that Sony and Panasonic are allegedly working on another NEW FORMAT, that will REPLACE BLU-RAY?

It took far too long for companies to release most of the flicks I wanted on DVD, so there's NO fucking way I'm going to go through that again. Especially when there's NOTHING wrong with the DVDs I'm using now!

Some folks still don't understand, most movies and tv shows will NEVER be released on BLU-RAY. As for rare titles, unless the BLU-RAY equivalent of DVD-Rs become popular, it ain't gonna happen!

If all the major companies stopped producing DVDs, I still would NOT buy BLU-RAYs!

Even the market for used DVDs is far bigger than for new BLU-RAYs. DVDs are NOT going to disappear anytime soon.

In my opinion, DVD-Rs will most likely replace "pressed" discs - look at the success of WARNER ARCHIVE, SOMETHING WEIRD, and countless others.

One last thing, some folks think that used VHS sales are big, they're NOT! It's a "niche" product. I would wager, that at least half the folks that purchase VHS tapes are the jump-on-the-bandwagon type of individuals.

Those folks will eventually get bored and move on to the next fad.....

However, they're off to a good start... This week is Clint Eastwood week!... FUCK YEAH!

The second one is called ESCAPE TV, and it's aimed primarily at women. I was looking at their list of flicks, and many of them appeal to men also.

A BRIEF SALUTE TO BARBARA STANWYCK

Barbara Stanwyck in MEET JOHN DOE

I've been watching Ruby Stevens - aka Barbara Stanwyck - since childhood. She's been one of my favorite actresses for a long time.

"WOW!", that's what I said the first time I saw DOUBLE INDEMNITY ( 1944 ). This was the first Barbara Stanwyck film I ever saw. It was also one of the first black and white movies I ever watched, and it made a big impression on me.

Let me tell you something else, Ms. Stanwyck is one of the greatest actresses this country has ever produced!

If you ever get a chance to watch some of her films, do so!

She was able to make every character she played unique, even when they were similar on paper. She also made each character genuinely human.

Jennifer Jason Leigh narrated a short video salute to Ms. Stanwyck for TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES, and I agree with everything she said. Below are a few quotes from it.....

"She could bring sympathy to the most ruthless and the nastiest of characters"

"She was often playing two emotional registers at once, slightly teasing us with her witty persona and then showing us the cracks in the facade"

"She's hilarious and brilliant, and she makes it look so damn easy"

If anyone deserves to portray Ms. Stanwyck in a bio pic, it's Ms. Leigh.

FYI: Jennifer Jason Leigh is also one of the best actresses this country has ever produced.

Below is a very short list of some of my favorite Barbara Stanwyck movies.

SHOPWORN ( 1932 ).....

She looks so young in this film, and so adorable.

I don't think it was ever released on legit VHS.

You can find SHOPWORN in a five movie set called COLUMBIA PICTURES PRE-CODE COLLECTION ( region one DVD by TCM / SONY ).

NOTE: This may be the CUT version. I don't think the uncut version still exists.

LADY EVE ( 1941 ).....

Usually movies like this, do not appeal to me, but I'll watch almost anything with Ms. Stanwyck in it.

Henry Fonda also stars in this film.

A VHS was released by MCA / UNIVERSAL. I don't know if any other companies released it.

A region one DVD was released by CRITERION

It was also released as part of a seven movie collection called PRESTON STURGES: THE FILMMAKER COLLECTION ( by UNIVERSAL - region one DVD ).

LADIES OF LEISURE ( 1930 ).....

I think this is a fun flick, and she looks really cute.

I don't know if a legit VHS was ever released, but I did own a very bad quality bootleg.

LADIES OF LEISURE was released as part of a five movie set called FRANK CAPRA: THE EARLY COLLECTION ( region one DVD by TCM / SONY ).

You can also get this as an MOD-DVD by SONY.

This movie aired on GET TV. So, you can try recording it onto a DVD-R.

NO MAN OF HER OWN ( 1950 ).....

This is one of my all time favorite Barbara Stanwyck movies.

You know her character is doing the wrong thing, but you still find yourself rooting for her.

Do NOT confuse this film with the Clark Gable and Carole Lombard movie of the same name!

I've been told that this movie was released on legit VHS, but I've never seen one.

NO MAN OF HER OWN was finally released on legit region one DVD by OLIVE FILMS.

TEN CENTS A DANCE ( 1931 ).....

As a kid, I remember listening to this song on a radio show about record collecting. The hosts also mentioned the movie. I finally saw the film on bootleg VHS a few months later.

FYI: There are at least three or four other movies based on songs that I know of.

I don't know if this was ever released on legit VHS.

However, it is part of a five movie set called COLUMBIA PICTURES PRE-CODE COLLECTION ( region one DVD by TCM / SONY ).

NOTE: This may be the CUT version. I don't think the uncut version still exists.

THE NIGHT WALKER ( 1964 ).....

I think this may have been her last theatrical film.

It's a spooky thriller written by Robert Bloch ( 1917 – 1994 ).

THE NIGHT WALKER was directed by William Castle ( 1914 – 1977 ).

UNIVERSAL released a legit VHS in the United States, but it's hard to find.

This movie has NOT been released on legit region one DVD!... What-the-fuck!... You'll have to hunt for a grey-market disc.

A few more of her movies are, MEET JOHN DOE, BALL OF FIRE, STRANGE LOVE OF MARTHA IVERS, and CLASH BY NIGHT.

SHANNA McCULLOUGH's CULT FILMS

$

I recently listened to the RIALTO REPORT's interview with Shanna McCullough, and I was really impressed.

Do you remember a movie called A BEAUTIFUL MIND?.... Well, instead of a man, picture a beautiful woman - who's NOT nuts ( ha-ha-ha ).

As you all know, physical beauty fades. So you better have a lot going on upstairs, and apparently she does.

Ms. McCullough seems to be extremely intelligent. She was an electrician, and she's on the path to becoming a scientist - how cool is that?!

She also seems to have a kind heart. Well, that makes her beautiful in the truest sense of the word.

There are two photos of her at the RIALTO REPORT website that stand out, one with Candida Royalle and Veronica Hart, the other standing with John Leslie. She looks incredibly gorgeous in both of them. She looked like she belonged on the cover of GLAMOUR, VANITY FAIR, or VOGUE.

Let me say the obvious, physically attractive people are a-dime-a-dozen, especially these days when plastic surgery is so common. Unfortunately, a lot of folks still don't get it, all the cosmetic changes in the world are NOT going to fix your mental problems. If you were a self-loathing individual, and highly insecure before your surgery, you'll probably remain that way.

THE RIALTO REPORT WEBSITE

Some of Ms. McCullough's non-adult titles are listed below ( thanks to Mr. Wood - and the IMDB ).

MALIBU EXPRESS.....

This is an Andy Sidaris film, so you know what to expect, ha-ha-ha.

I have this movie in my collection, and it's boob-tastic!

I think Ms. McCullough appears as a masseuse.

It was released on VHS by MCA / UNIVERSAL. I think it may have been released by a few other companies, but I'm not sure.

MALIBU EXPRESS has been released many times on region one DVD. It's an easy film to find. I recommend you get it on the cheap. Look for MILL CREEK's 12 movie pack called GIRLS, GUNS AND G-STRINGS.

NOTE - MILL CREEK also sold this set under the title BULLETS, BOMBS AND BABES ( with different cover ).

You can usually find this movie collection for FIVE dollars ( it's a bargain any way you look at it ).

TERRORGRAM.....

Ms. McCullough appears in this horror anthology ( she's credited as one of the biker chicks ).

I saw this movie during the VHS rental era. It's cheesy fun, and it's also extremely rare.

James Earl Jones does voice work for this film!

This movie got a legit VHS release in the United States, but I don't remember the name of the company that released it.

I can NOT find any legit region one DVDs. However, there are some grey-market discs floating around.

As for online videos, I've only been able to find a trailer and some clips.

BROKEN VESSELS.....

I think I saw this movie once, but I don't remember anything about it.

A VHS was released by A-PIX ENTERTAINMENT.

A region one DVD was released by ALLUMINATION FILMWORKS ( in solo form, and as part of a four movie set ).

VIRTUAL DESIRE.....

Directed by the one and only Jim Wynorski.

Here's another rare film.

I don't know the name of the company that released it on VHS.

The movie was released on region one DVD by IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT.

HOUSEWIFE FROM HELL.....

I saw this movie a while ago, and I don't remember if I liked it.

It looks like a lot of silly fun.

A VHS was released by TRIBORO ENTERTAINMENT / CROWN INTERNATIONAL PICTURES.

There's NO region one DVD that I know of. I find that really surprising, since it's part of CROWN INTERNATIONAL's library of films.

I've only been able to find an online trailer, that's it!

Good luck trying to find these films.....

MOVIE ADS: ZODIAC

The ZODIAC was the first real serial killer that scared the shit out of me ( fictional movie killers have never scared me ).

When I was a kid he was still a legend in California, and there would occasionally be news about him resurfacing.

Some of my friends at school, would spread absurd rumors and almost everyone would believe them. Keep in mind, that when you're a kid, most crazy rumors actually sound plausible.

Newspaper clipping from 1969

Even if Arthur Leigh Allen was not the ZODIAC, he was still guilty of...

NUMBER 1 - Being a CHILD MOLESTER! QUOTES BELOW FROM ZODIAC DISC 2 - "HIS NAME WAS ARTHUR LEIGH ALLEN".....

QUOTE BY "SANDY" PANZARELLA - "He told me that he got fired from a teaching job because he carried a magnum under the car seat, under the front seat of his AUSTIN-HEALEY. Then later, I found out he was really arrested for... he was really fired for child molestation"

QUOTES BELOW FROM ZODIAC DISC 2 - INTERVIEW WITH GEORGE BAWART.....

INTERVIEWER - "He admitted to using the screams of a child as a sex toy?"

GEORGE BAWART - "Yes, he did. He said he enjoyed listening to the screams of a child being beaten"

NUMBER 2 - He made BOMBS! QUOTES BELOW FROM ZODIAC DISC 2 - BY GEORGE BAWART.....

"We searched the house and we found, hidden in the basement, bombs, completed pipe bombs, formulas for making fuel oil bombs as the ZODIAC had described in one of his letters where he was gonna blow up school buses with little children in them"

I know there are other things, but I can't remember.

No SANE person can justify defending an individual like this. He was a degenerate, and certifiably nuts! Only shameless, and morally bankrupt individuals would help and befriend a disgusting piece of shit like him.

Before I forget, I truly believe one or more folks knew about his "hobbies", and helped him.

Newspaper clipping from 1969

There have been countless newspaper articles, magazine articles, books, movies, and documentaries made about the ZODIAC killer.

If I could only pick ONE movie about the ZODIAC killer, it would be ZODIAC ( 2007 ), written by James Vanderbilt ( based on Robert Graysmith's book ), and directed by David Fincher.

This film drills a hole into your mind and stays there.

I love this movie. It's truly a work of art in my opinion.

Newspaper clipping from 1969

This is one of those movies, where I like everything about it. The script, the camera work, the editing, the sound, and the acting.

The cast is outstanding! Some of those folks are... Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Robert Downey Jr., Brian Cox, Candy Clark, Elias Koteas, Dermot Mulroney, Philip Baker Hall, and Ione Skye.

John Carroll Lynch is fucking amazing in this movie.

The scenes between Charles Fleischer and Jake Gyllenhaal are fucking fantastic.

A two disc region one DVD was released by PARAMOUNT ( also released in single disc form, and BLU-RAY ). The two disc version has a bunch of extra features.

BREAKING WITHDRAWAL

It's come to an end... again.

And once again, it's difficult to let go.

Last night, I watched the last episode of METASTASIS ( the Colombian edition of BREAKING BAD ). So now, I'm going through withdrawal for a SECOND time.

Walter, you'll be missed... You were a true original, and most important of all, you were HUMAN.

I repeat, HUMAN... That's what made this character so special.

Walter is the only tv character I have ever become attached to. I could identify with him on many levels, and I am sure many others felt the same way.

Some of the other characters thought they were morally superior to Walter, but they were NOT... They were HYPOCRITES.

These characters were truly three-dimensional, and the actors and actresses that portrayed them deserve every bit of praise they have received.

To the writers, directors, editors, actors, actresses, and everyone else involved with BOTH versions.... I SALUTE ALL OF YOU!

I can count the number of television shows that I've truly loved on one hand.... Those shows are TWIN PEAKS, HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET, BREAKING BAD, and it's Colombian edition METASTASIS. There are a few other shows that I really liked, but the programs I've mentioned, are the shows that will stay in my memory for a very long time.

NOTE: I did NOT count any of my favorite anthologies. Why?... because anthologies are not typical tv shows. Each episode has different characters and the stories usually have no connection. That's why I did not include personal favorites, such as NIGHT GALLERY, TWILIGHT ZONE, and a few others.

Goodbye / Adios Walter.....

Lyrics to CRYSTAL BLUE PERSUASION ( Eddie Gray / Tommy James / Mike Vale )

look over yonder...
what do you see?
the sun is a-risin
most definitely
a new day is comin... woo-hoo
people are changin
ain't it beautiful... woo-hoo
crystal blue persuasion...

better get ready
gonna see the light
love, love is the answer... woo-hoo
and that's all right
so don't you give up now... woo-hoo
it's so easy to find
just look to your soul... look to your soul
and open your mind

crystal blue persuasion.... mum-hum
it's a new vibration
crystal blue persuasion
crystal... blue persuasion

maybe tomorrow
when he looks down
on every green field... woo-hoo
and every town
all of his children
in every nation
there'll be peace and good
brotherhood...
crystal blue persuasion... yeah...
crystal blue persuasion... a-ha.....

I am going to end this post with a Walter White / Walter Blanco style moment...

To all the AIN'T-GOT-A-LIFE-OF-THEIR-OWN-PUSSY-COWARD-INTERNET-TROLLS, your day of reckoning is coming soon..... "REMEMBER MY NAME".....

SNOW BUNNIES POSTER

Come on!, how do you not like this artwork?!

I remember reading some really negative comments about this art a couple years ago. What do they know?! Those same folks probably love watching television's equivalent of diarrhea... GLEE.

SNOW BUNNIES was supposedly co-written by Stephen C. Apostolof and Ed Wood.

It was directed by Mr. Apostolof ( aka A.C. Stephen ).

Rene bond, Terri Johnson, Sandy Carey, and Marsha Jordan, are some of the familiar faces you'll see in this movie.

Rene Bond wears a red colored clingy top and matching hot pants. Don't know if it was latex or leather, but it definitely looks good on her.

I thought this movie was a bit lethargic, and frequently found myself thinking about other things when Rene and Terri weren't on screen.

I don't know if this was ever released on legit VHS in the United States. I remember owning a bootleg tape in the late seventies, or early eighties ( the video and audio quality were really bad ).

I only know of one "pressed" DVD for this film ( region zero ). SNOW BUNNIES can be found in a collection of Ed Wood films called BIG BOX OF WOOD. It was released by S'MORE ENTERTAINMENT ( six discs ).

SNOW BUNNIES is on disc 4 ( in FULLscreen ). My copy of SNOW BUNNIES clocks in at 84 mins 31 seconds.

All the discs are single sided, and are housed in slimline cases that fit into a flimsy - and loose fitting - cardboard slipcase.

Each of the slimline cases share the exact same cover art! The only difference is the text on the back cover, and the number of the disc on the front and spine.

If you buy this collection, do yourself a favor and skip all the intros by Ted Newsom.

For the most part, I hated the audio commentary by Ted Newsom and David Decoteau ( on FUGITIVE GIRLS ). Both of them seem to have a contemptuous attitude towards Mr. Wood, his films, and many other people.

If the material is so incredibly beneath them, why go through the trouble of doing an audio commentary?!

I've never heard of Mr. Newsom, and if you're familiar with Mr. Decoteau's films, then you know, he's got a lot of nerve thumbing his nose at anybody else's work. Who do these guys think they are, Stanley Kubrick and Samual Fuller?... enough said.

RANDOM THOUGHTS: MOVIE & TV MEMORABILIA ( OCTOBER 2014 )

When I found out about TOYS-R-US BANNING the sale of all BREAKING BAD merchandise, I was NOT shocked.

Why are they catering to the whims of a small group of MENTALLY-DEFICIENT-FANATICS?!

Does TOYS-R-US have FANATICS working for them?.... They probably do.

Let me say the obvious, they're insane!

This is NOT about a hunk of plastic, it's about a lot more!

Their actions are disturbing on many levels!

Do NOT give TOYS-R-US your money! Why do you want to support the HYPOCRITE, and FANATICAL-RELIGIOUS-RIGHT?!... The only freedom those ABOMINATIONS believe in, is their own!

Once upon a time, TOYS-R-US was a big deal, but now?

TOYS-R-US seems to be intent on slicing their own throats. Remember other stores that were BIG NAMES?... KB TOYS ( gone ), KMART ( barely alive ), SEARS ( why bother? ), J.C. PENNY ( ditto ), MONTGOMERY WARD ( do they still exist? ), and others?... Remember them?

I truly hope TOYS-R-US gets a taste of their own medicine.

Remember this... There is always, someWHERE else to spend your money, and someTHING else to spend it on!

You've got the power!

RE-ACTION FIGURES.....

Looking for some of those cute retro styled figures?... Try BARNES & NOBLE!

I got the ALIEN, and the UNIVERSAL version of DRACULA for $9.95 each!

The DRACULA figure has Bela Lugosi's photo on the front of the package.

I really wanted the CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, but could not find one... maybe next time?

BREAKING BAD FIGURES.....

How would Walter White / Walter Blanco handle the TOYS-R-US situation?...

Anyway, I purchased a Walter White figure at BARNES & NOBLE for $19.95 - EAT SHIT AND DIE TOYS-R-US!.... Thanks for motivating me, to visit my local BARNES & NOBLE!

Most folks forget, that many BARNES & NOBLE stores sell things like this.

It looks great, and I love it!

FYI: I am NOT a collector of figures, but every once and a while, I'll see something I can't resist.

Well, that's it for now.....

Newspaper ad from THE CITIZEN ( from Ottawa Canada )

CATHY'S CURSE is from Canada. I watched it on television quite often when I was younger.

This movie was written by Myra Clement, Eddy Matalon, and Alain Sens-Cazenave.

It was directed by Eddy Matalon.

The movie stars, Randi Allen, Beverly Murray, and Alan Scarfe.

There seems to be a lot of hate for this flick, but that just makes me like it even more.

I've been told repeatedly by some Canadian folks, that a longer version of CATHY'S CURSE exists. However, none of them have ever given me any specific details.

Newspaper article from THE GAZETTE ( from Montreal Canada )

Do any of my Canadian readers remember seeing this newspaper report when it was new?... Should the article about Randi Allen's family be considered "tabloid journalism", or was it a legit news story?

I don't know if CATHY'S CURSE ever had a legit VHS release in the United States.

This movie is easy to find on region one DVD. I recommend you get it as cheaply as possible.

A lot of companies have released it. Such as, SYNERGY, ALPHA, BCI, and others.

I found my copy in a fifty movie collection called CHILLING CLASSICS by MILL CREEK. It only cost me ten dollars. It's in FULLscreen.

Newspaper ad from EL DIARIO ( from New York city U.S.A. )

THE BLOODY VAMPIRE is from Mexico, and I saw it on television as a kid.

It was written and directed by Miguel Morayta ( 1907 – 2013 ).

It stars Carlos Agostí, Martha Bauman, and Begona Palacios ( 1941 – 2000 ).

I think this movie has got a genuinely spooky vibe.

There's a beautifully filmed scene involving a stagecoach.

FYI: Begona Palacios was Sam Peckinpah's wife.

Begona Palacios in a tv commercial for V8 juice and a newspaper notice of her death ( from the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL - March 3, 2000 ).

This movie contains one of my favorite cinematic bats of all time.

I don't know if this movie was ever released on legit VHS domestically.

As for DVD, BLOODY VAMPIRE is a somewhat rare flick. In fact, it's so rare, I've only seen a few grey-market discs for sale.

The only region one "pressed" DVD that I know of, is UNDEAD: THE VAMPIRE COLLECTION by MILL CREEK. It's a twenty movie collection that usually sells for five dollars or less. The movie is FULLscreen and in decent shape.

SPREE is an extremely rare film.

This is one of those alleged documentaries that seemed to be very popular during the sixties and part of the seventies.

Supposedly, there were lawsuits by Vic Damone and Juliet Prowse ( 1936 – 1996 ). So, the filmmakers had to cut them out of the trailer.

Anyway, I've only met a couple of folks that have seen this film, and they tell me that Jayne Mansfield is the main attraction.

Most people know who Jayne Mansfield is ( and her daughter Mariska Hargitay ). How many folks know who Vic Damone and Juliet Prowse are?

Jayne Mansfield was NOT a joke, but the mass media, with their hypocritical-tabloid-mentality, portrayed her that way.

I can not find this flick on VHS, or region one "pressed" disc, or grey-market DVD-R.

SOMETHING WEIRD VIDEO has the trailer listed on one of their collections ( look for TWISTED SEX 21 ).

I've only been able to find one online trailer... Oh well, that's better than nothing.....
