FALLEN ANGELS is a documentary about the adult industry ( as it existed in the early to mid eighties ).

It's honest, unintentionally funny, and much better than you might think.



QUOTE from the film ( customer that's renting the CAMP BEAVERLAKE tape ) - "It's a funny title... Ya' know, when I was a kid and went to camp, I always looked for beaver. Now that I'm an adult, I'm still looking for beaver"

Do you think these customers ever got together and had in-depth discussions about these flims?... "Did the blowjob in scene three, represent humanity's callous and destructive attitude towards mother nature?"...... hummmm.....

I wonder if some of those guys slept with their rental tapes? ( like a kid sleeps with a teddy bear ).



At one point, you'll see Traci Lords attending the premiere of NEW WAVE HOOKERS. Obviously, this happened BEFORE her secret was exposed.

There was a time, when a lot of adult movies were actually real movies - but with real sex.

So please keep in mind, that when this documentary was released, most adult "films" were NO longer real "movies".

You can NOT compare films like THE PRIVATE AFTERNOONS OF PAMELA MANN, or THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES, or even WANDA WHIPS WALL STREET, to all the lowest common denominator shot-on-video crapfests that replaced them.

The mid eighties seemed to be the beginning of the end for real adult movies. When I say "real adult movies", I'm referring to films that actually used SCRIPTS with real stories, and gasp, exterior scenes shot on location!


"parking in rear"... get it?... ha-ha-ha....


What do you suppose he's thinking about?.... ha-ha-ha-ha....

I don't know which company released FALLEN ANGELS on VHS. But, I do remember winning this tape - and a few others - in a video rental store contest. I no longer have it, or the other tapes.

As far as I know, a legit region one DVD does NOT exist. However, you can get a grey-market DVD-R from J4HI.COM... NOTE: I do NOT own a copy, so I can't tell you if it's worth buying.

Judy Adler in CONFESSIONS OF A BAD GIRL

I can NOT find info on Ms. Adler's current status.

When I was young, I thought Ms. Adler was amazingly adorable. She was truly unforgettable.

I loved watching her on bootleg VHS tapes during the late 70s.

Ms. Adler never seemed to get the same amount of attention that Gigi Darlene, Darlene Bennett, and June Roberts received.

I can NOT find any information on Ms. Darlene's current status.

According to the audio commentary on ALTERNATIVE CINEMA'S SEXPLOITERS DVD, her real name is Leonora Rheine.

I've been told that Gigi Darlene is not her only pseudonym.

I thought Leonora Rheine was INCREDIBLY CUTE.

She was the very definition of the word voluptuous!

A color short was the first film I saw her in ( don't remember the name ). That was in the late seventies, and I've loved watching her ever since.

Ms. Rheine was not your typical exploitation queen. She was extremely memorable. The camera REALLY loved her.

BUTT seriously folks, I really miss watching Rhonda Shear on television.

I also loved watching her on MARRIED WITH CHILDREN ( and other shows ).

This lady was genuinely funny, and hotter than a fried chicken's ass!.... I meant that as a compliment!

I don't think any of the UP ALL NIGHT segments were ever released on legit VHS.

I used to see grey-market DVDs on sale at pop-culture conventions. However, there was NO way I was going to pay twenty dollars for a crappy-ass bootleg.

If you want to see more of Rhonda, you can watch MARRIED WITH CHILDREN ( can't remember which episode ), or DALLAS ( I think she may have done two or three episodes ), or find a used DVD - or VHS - of BASIC TRAINING.



Her official YOUTUBE channel has tons of segments from UP ALL NIGHT.



Rhonda's official website seems to be devoted to her clothing line. There dosen't seem to be anything from her show or movies. That sucks!



She's a HOTTIE, and a SMARTIE... We miss you Rhonda.....

The poster isn't very exciting, but it gets the job done.

PRIVATE SCHOOL is another 80's T&A comedy.

During the 80s, these types of movies were just as plentiful as slasher flicks.

PRIVATE SCHOOL was written by Dan Greenburg, and Suzanne O'Malley.

It was directed by Noel Black.

Check out this cast..... Phoebe Cates, Matthew Modine, Kathleen Wilhoite, Ray Walston ( 1914 – 2001 ), Sylvia Kristel ( 1952 – 2012 ), and Betsy Russell.



How can anyone forget Betsy Russell's horse ride?

In my opinion, Ms. Russell has actually become even MORE physically attractive with age.



The teaser trailer for PRIVATE SCHOOL is one of my all time favorites. Anyone know the name of the actress in the trailer?

PRIVATE SCHOOL was released on VHS by UNIVERSAL.

A region one DVD was also released by UNIVERSAL.

Well, another year has passed.

It's the time of year when some folks perpetuate the BULLSHIT of SANTA CLAUS.

I still remember the HYSTERICAL behavior of countless movie critics and "concerned citizens", when the first SILENT NIGHT flick was released. It was ABSURD beyond belief!

After all these years, I still do NOT understand why so many ANAL DOUCHEBAGS became so upset.

The American version of the LARDASS in the red suit is secular! I repeat, he is NOT a religious icon. He is NOT a saint!

SANTA CLAUS was NOT hanging out with the three kings and he was NOT at the manger.

The person that named SANTA CLAUS was a FUCKING IDIOT... Santa is the FEMININE version of SAN!... HIS name should be San Claus. However, since he is NOT a SAINT, that title is also inappropriate.

Anyway.....



PART ONE: Silent Night, Deadly Night

Let's face it, the real stars of this flick are all the bouncy boobs, the woman that played Mother Superior, and the guy that played GRAMPA!

I think this film is entertaining... Which is more than I can say for the sequel.



PART TWO: Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2

What can you say about part two?... Way too much recycled footage!

How can you forget the "GARBAGE DAY" scene?... Or the nonchalant expression on Elizabeth Kaitan's face, when her character almost kills "Ricky" with her car?... She's cute and has sexy legs, so everything gets forgiven.



PART THREE: Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out!

Franklin Robertson loves horror magazines, and horror movies.

He also loves midnight movie shows hosted by people like DOCTOR CERBERUS.

The story starts when he's thirteen, and ends with him entering adulthood.

MIKE VRANEY.....

Mike Vraney on a TV show called EVENING MAGAZINE ( from 2006 ).

I just found out Mike Vraney - the owner of SOMETHING WEIRD VIDEO - has died.

Apparently, he had been fighting cancer.

He saved countless films from almost every genre from extinction, and released films that nobody else would.



Mike Vraney and his wife Lisa Petrucci ( on a TV show called EVENING MAGAZINE in 2006 ).

He seemed to have a great sense of humor, and didn't seem to like it, when folks would overanalyze films ( I know the feeling ).

SOMETHING WEIRD was, and still is, one of my favorite companies.

My sincerest sympathies to his family.

You'll be missed Mr. Vraney.....

New title and cover for GIRLS, GUNS & G-STRINGS

A few months ago, I noticed a new 12 movie pack by MILL CREEK sitting on the shelf at WALMART.

As it turns out, it's NOT new... It's just a retitled version of the GIRLS, GUNS & G-STRINGS 12 movie pack.

All the films are by Andy Sidaris.

The flicks contain bouncy bimbos, fast cars, and explosions... and there's NOTHING wrong with that!

The "new" version has a "WALMART FRIENDLY" cover.

I do NOT know if the new version has single sided discs ( the older version has double sided discs ).

Anyway, I just wanted to inform all of you.....

I've been having a flood of youthful memories lately.

Watching FRIGHT NIGHT, and MONSTER RALLY, with Larry Vincent - aka Sinister Seymour - was a ton o'fun.

His sense of humor was perfect for hosting a show like FRIGHT NIGHT.

I was also very happy when I would spot him in movies and tv shows.

I have NOT been able to find any books about Mr. Vincent. Nor have I been able to track down any extensive magazine articles.

However, there is a book about southern California movie hosts.



The book is called CREATURES OF THE NIGHT THAT WE LOVED SO WELL: TV HORROR HOSTS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

A BRIEF LOOK BACK AT ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY

Elizabeth Montgomery in the movie JOHNNY COOL

When I was young, I loved watching Ms. Montgomery play Samantha Stevens on a tv show called BEWITCHED.

I think she was special, and I was truly mesmerised by her.

When I got older, I noticed some subversive things in BEWITCHED. Samantha was NOT a doting, and submissive housewife - the type of married female that was typically seen in American sitcoms of the fifties and early sixties.

She played a smart and sexy character in the film called JOHNNY COOL.

In my opinion, she looks very beautiful in this movie.



FYI: The movie tie-in version of the JOHNNY COOL paperback book - by John McPartland - has Elizabeth on the cover. I've been hunting for a mint condition copy for years.


Elizabeth Montgomery in the made-for-tv-movie called SECOND SIGHT: A LOVE STORY

SECOND SIGHT: A LOVE STORY is not as bad as it sounds.

Elizabeth plays a blind woman.

During one very intense and realistic scene, an intruder gets more than he bargained for.

I don't think Ms. Montgomery ever got the credit she deserved, in regards to her acting skills.

She appeared in a lot of made-for-tv movies. Such as... LEGEND OF LIZZIE BORDEN, and SINS OF THE MOTHER.

Ms. Montgomery also appeared in many tv shows, such as... ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS, RAWHIDE, THE UNTOUCHABLES, and the TWILIGHT ZONE.

She also did work in theatrical flicks, like... HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI and a rare movie called WHO'S BEEN SLEEPING IN MY BED?

She has a great cameo in HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI. The movie was released on region one DVD by MGM at least three times... As a solo disc, as part of a double feature ( paired with BEACH BLANKET BINGO ), and as part of an eight movie pack called FRANKIE & ANNETTE: THE COLLECTION.



FYI: As I write this, WHO'S BEEN SLEEPING IN MY BED? has NOT had a legit region one DVD release. In fact, I don't think a legit VHS was ever released either ( at least NOT in the United States ). It only seems to be available via bootleg DVD-R, and via online "streaming".

FYI: Elizabeth provided the voice for a character in BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES ( barmaid in episode called SHOWDOWN - from season 4 - episode 2 ).



There are at least three or four books about Ms. Montgomery / BEWITCHED. One of them is called THE ESSENTIAL ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY: A GUIDE TO HER MAGICAL PERFORMANCES... I do NOT own this book, so I can't tell you if it's worth owning.

Michael Findlay in SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED

Michael Findlay ( 1938 – 1977 ), and his wife Roberta, are probably most famous for SNUFF, and the FLESH series of films.

I can not begin to describe how many mixed feelings I have about these folks, and their cinematic crapfests.

Sometimes, their films make me fall asleep. On other occasions, I've laughed so hard, that I thought I was going to lose consciousness... And yet, Mr. Findlay seemed to possess a very artistic eye... And he definitely had a way with words.

How the fuck can anyone NOT love this movie?!... The TOASTER scene alone, is worth the price of admission!

It's available on region one DVD by RETROMEDIA ( via IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT ).


Michael Findlay in WET & WILD ( aka VIRGINS IN HEAT )

I love WET & WILD. It has "wrap-around" segments with Michael playing a projectionist at a porn theater.

He narrates the film, and it's worth the price of admission, just to hear his deliciously dirty dialogue. Plus, you also get to see his ultra-hammy acting.

This tawdry turd is a must have!

WET & WILD is available on DVD-R from SOMETHING WEIRD ( paired with the Rene Bond flick BAD BAD GANG ).



Truly horrific... Michael Findlay was among the victims of the helicopter tragedy that killed five people ( at the top of the PAN AM building ).

Many of Michael and Roberta's films have been released on region one DVD, and DVD-R, by SOMETHING WEIRD VIDEO, RETROMEDIA, RHINO, MILL CREEK, and other companies.

PORSCHE LYNN

Porsche Lynn in a newspaper ad from 1997 ( for her 900 number phone service )

She was very popular during the VHS era.

Ashlyn Gere and a few others, seemed to have started their careers with low-budget slasher and sci-fi flicks, so I thought Porsche Lynn may have done the same.

I don't know if she used any pseudonyms - other than Porsche Lynn.

I've searched for info using her alleged real name, Lauren Pokorny, but didn't find anything.

She had a mischievous quality to her acting. I think she would have been great in dark comedies. She also would have been great in action, and slasher flicks.

I love the artwork on this poster.

This art also appears on the cover of the VHS tape ( United States version ). I don't know if tapes outside the U.S. also used this art.



Nancy Allen is one of my favorite actresses, and she looks great firing a gun. Hell, Nancy Allen just looks great, period!

Her co-stars are, Ted Shackelford and Martin Landau.

Gina Gershon also appears in this movie.



SWEET REVENGE was released on VHS by MEDIA ENTERTAINMENT.

Every time I see one of these tapes for sale, it looks like it was dragged on the street and left in the gutter for a few years.

SWEET REVENGE has NOT had a legit region one DVD release.

I've only been able to locate bootleg DVD-R's that sell for twenty fucking dollars.... No fucking way, am I going to pay twenty bucks for a grey-market disc.

MEMORABILIA: RED EYE PEN

I love movie memorabilia, especially when it's a replica of something that actually appears in the movie.



This pen has a small, but VERY important role in RED EYE.

It has become one of my favorite items, from my small memorabilia collection.



I also had an 11 x 17 promo poster for the film, but I have NO idea where it is, or if I still have it.

You'll probably read negative things about this film, or hear people bashing it.... ignore them!



RED EYE is an above average "popcorn-flick". Many folks use that term as a put-down, I don't.

There's nothing wrong with this movie.

Just for the record, Rachel McAdams kicks ass in this film, and she looks good doing it!

Rachel's co-stars are, Cillian Murphy, Brian Cox, and Jayma Mays.

It was released on region one DVD by DREAMWORKS.

GRINDHOUSE ERA ADS: THE PICK-UP

THE PICK-UP looks like a great mixture of noir, crime, torture, and sexploitation flicks.

I would love to find a complete mint condition press-book for this film.

SOMETHING WEIRD appears to have two versions of the PICK-UP trailer. One is a bit beat-up, and the other version is near perfect. The better version can be found as an extra, on the THE DEFILERS / SCUM OF THE EARTH DVD.

THE PICK-UP is an extremely rare movie. As I write this, the only known print belongs to SOMETHING WEIRD.



I've been hesitant about purchasing a copy of their DVD-R, because it has "burned-in" Danish subtitles. However, it's the only way you can get this movie.



THE PICK-UP was written by Lee Frost ( 1935 – 2007 ) and Wes Bishop ( 1932 – 1993 ).

It was directed by Lee Frost.

The stars are, Wes Bishop, Stefan Zema, Lois Ursone, and Lynn Harris.

FYI: David F. Friedman ( 1923 – 2011 ), supposedly appears in it.

MARRIED WITH CHILDREN: SEASON 1 & 2 COMBO PACK ( MILL CREEK )

I hate most sitcoms, but I've always made an exception for MARRIED WITH CHILDREN.

I'm not fond of the first season. The cast was still fleshing-out their characters. However, I loved the show from season two until season seven or eight.



I wanted to purchase the second version of SONY's complete series set, but it's now out-of-print... There's NO fucking way I'm paying an absurd price for a used DVD.

MILL CREEK has released season one and two ( separately, and in a two season combo set ).

I purchased the two season combo set, and I am VERY happy with it.

It contains three single sided discs.

All the discs are housed in a standard size DVD case. The three discs all rest on one spindle. There's nothing wrong with the way the discs are packaged - so don't let anyone try and convince you otherwise.

There are no extras, and no booklet, or other inserts.

The original season sets by SONY were NOT cheap. Nor, were they ultra high quality.

After purchasing the MILL CREEK version, you'll still have money in your pocket - you can use it for frivolous things, like food, clothing, gas...



As of February 16, 2014, the following retailers are selling this set for...

HAMILTON BOOK.COM - $9.95

WALMART - Haven't found it in any of my local stores

TARGET - One of my local stores was selling it for $7.99 ( sale price? )

AMAZON.COM - $10.37... Is this the best they can do?

OLDIES.COM - Stay as far away from these folks as possible!

DEEP DISCOUNT - $10.04... That's NOT a "deep discount"... WALMART, TARGET, HAMILTON BOOK, and other retailers are selling it cheaper.

I don't know anything about this woman, other than she appears in a sexploitation flick called STRANGE RAMPAGE.

Several folks have told me, she was primarily famous for being a burlesque performer.



I've searched the internet for more information on Ms. How, but I can only find info on much younger women by the same name.

FYI: I've also seen her name spelled Ann Howe.



STRANGE RAMPAGE was released on DVD-R by SOMETHING WEIRD. I do NOT own a copy, but I'm thinking about ordering one.
